Tablet Tableaux is an exhibit comprised of 54 canvasses, 3’ x 4’ in dimension, that depicts through vibrant imagery the stories and lessons of the Torah. Accompanying these canvasses is an audio guide narrated by Rabbi Mark Fishman and Rabbi Lisa Grushcow, with the musical accompaniment of Cantor Daniel Benlolo, that allows viewers to better understand the paintings. Tablet Tableaux brings the Torah to life for people of all ages and backgrounds highlighting the connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel, and our contributions to modern society. The paintings can be appreciated at a very basic level, but can also reveal very detailed messages for those who wish to dive deeper.
A Coffee Table book accompanies this exhibit so that visitors will be able to bring Tablet Tableaux home with them and view it at their leisure.
Tablet Tableaux is the product of the vision and talents of Sheila Nemtin Levine, a self-taught artist who has experimented in different mediums over the years. Sheila has combined her artistic talents and strong Jewish identity to create Tablet Tableaux, an ideal vehicle for bringing the Torah (bible) to life for people of all ages and backgrounds.
“My mission with this exhibit is to advocate & enlighten through art to both Jewish and non-Jewish people. It is a vehicle for building bridges.”
